About OneID

Verification your customers will actually finish

A UK digital verification services provider, confirming identity and age in seconds across multiple methods

A customer reaches the point where you have to confirm who they are or how old they are. For most businesses, that is the moment people give up. They are asked to photograph a passport, scan their face, or key in card details, and a measurable share walk away.

OneID exists to make that moment the easiest step in onboarding rather than the last one a customer completes. We confirm a person's identity and age in seconds, with a result a regulator can stand behind and an experience the customer barely notices.

What OneID does

OneID is a digital verification services provider. We confirm identity and age across multiple methods, matched to the platform, the audience, and the rule the business has to meet.

That breadth is the point. Some people verify fastest through their bank. Others through a document, an on-device facial age estimate, a check against their mobile network, a reusable credential held on their phone, or an international electronic identity. One business needs high-assurance know-your-customer for a regulated product. Another needs a light age check at a checkout. A single integration covers all of it, and routes each customer to the method that fits.

Identity verification

Compliant identity assurance, returned in seconds with an auditable result. It covers customer onboarding, know-your-customer for regulated firms, right-to-work and right-to-rent checks, identity for the DBS process, and verified signer identity for electronic signatures. Every check produces an evidence trail a business can show under audit.

Age verification

Age checks a customer completes without hesitation, built for Online Safety Act compliance and the regulators behind it. Five of Ofcom's seven highly effective age assurance methods are available through OneID, so a business can choose the path that suits its audience instead of forcing everyone down one route.

Agentic verification

As AI agents start to act and transact on people's behalf, someone has to prove the human behind the agent is real, eligible, and consenting. This is the Authority Layer for agentic commerce. Every action an agent takes is traceable back to a verified person, within limits that person set. It binds verified identity to delegated authority, so an agent acts with authority rather than merely permission.

Why OneID exists

The internet is entering a regulated era. Businesses now have to prove who they serve, who they protect, and who they allow to act. The people and the agents acting on their behalf need verification controls that do not get in the way.

Most providers force a choice. Compliance or conversion. Speed or assurance. Control or simplicity. OneID was built so businesses never have to pick a side. We turn compliance into infrastructure: invisible to the user, and undeniable to the regulator.

There is a second reason the company exists. Verification only works as public infrastructure if it works for everyone, not only the people who hold a passport or a driving licence. Far more UK adults hold a bank account than a passport, which is part of why bank-verified routes reach people document checks miss. OneID is a certified B Corporation and works with the Good Things Foundation on digital inclusion, so the move to digital identity does not leave people behind. Inclusion is built into how the methods are designed, not added afterwards.

How OneID is different

The reusable credential is what compounds over time, and the same credential is what makes agentic verification possible. Throughout, OneID treats privacy as a baseline of doing this properly rather than a feature to sell.

The reusable credential

A customer who verifies once receives a credential held on their own device, secured by a biometric passkey. The next time they meet an OneID-powered service, they are recognised and verified in a tap.

A network that compounds

The more businesses that use OneID, the larger the pool of people who arrive already verified, and the lower the friction becomes for everyone in the network. The same credential is what makes agentic verification possible.

Privacy by design

OneID does not store identity documents or sensitive personal data. Data stays with the source that holds it, the bank, the mobile operator, or the government department, and is retrieved at the point of need with the customer's consent.

Certifications and accreditations

OneID was one of the first identity providers certified under the UK Digital Verification Services Trust Framework, the government framework that gives digital identity legal standing in the UK. Within it, OneID was the first Orchestration Service Provider and the first Holder/Wallet provider. Both roles now carry their own formal rules, which makes being first in them a stronger mark than being first under a general scheme.
