How does the fallback verification method work in a OneID® journey for Shopify?

OneID® offers flexible identity verification methods that can be tailored to suit various use cases, enabling secure and seamless customer journeys.

For Shopify, users initially undergo a silent background verification. Should this not succeed, they are directed to a Mobile Network Operator (MNO) journey, where they input their phone number and a One Time Passcode (OTP) to confirm possession of the number. We then obtain the necessary data directly from the Mobile Network Operator. If this approach is unsuccessful, the user is then guided through the bank journey.
