In 2024, The Good Things Foundation’s Digital Nation UK report revealed that 8.5 million people in the UK still lack basic digital skills. This digital exclusion isn’t just inconvenient — it comes at a cost:
And at a time when fraud and computer misuse have risen by 50%, the internet can be a risky place for those without the skills to navigate it safely.
At OneID®, our mission is to help make the internet a safer place for everyone. That includes supporting the communities around us. Over the past year (2024–2025), we proudly partnered with Good Things Foundation (GTF), the UK’s leading digital inclusion charity, as our Charity of the Year.
Together, we set out to help #FixTheDigitalDivide — empowering individuals with the skills and confidence to participate fully in the digital world.
Our team offered hands-on support at local hubs, helping people build digital confidence through one-to-one sessions. From setting up email accounts to learning how to make video calls, we saw firsthand how access and support can change lives.
We rolled up our sleeves — and rolled out the icing — with a charity bake sale at our Work.Life co-working space. Cakes, cookies, and community spirit combined to raise funds for GTF’s digital inclusion programmes.
In October, we supported GTF’s annual #GetOnlineWeek campaign with social media engagement, fundraising, and volunteering. Our team created and shared videos and posts, helping amplify the message that everyone deserves access to the digital world.
GTF has helped over one million people gain digital skills through their Digital Inclusion Hubs, data banks, device banks, and the Learn My Way platform.
And it’s working. According to the Digital Nation UK report:
This is why the work matters—and why we were proud to play a small part in closing the digital divide.
