We recently caught up with one of our Age Verification customers, David Niccol, to find out about his experience.

‘I found that only one system offered exactly what I wanted, and that was 'OneID®'. I wanted a fast-checking system done online instantly. David Niccol is the Director of Classic Car Comps, which is an online competition platform that promotes and sells tickets for classic car prizes. He is passionate about delivering an online competition service that is enjoyable and beneficial for his customers to take part in but is also dedicated to making this process as safe and innovative as possible. He recently started using our OneID® Age Verification technology after researching the laws and guidelines surrounding online competitions. Regarding this he stated:  

‘Our marketing is on Facebook and my site is restricted to selling tickets to over 18-year-olds, residing in the UK only. I recently reviewed our policy regarding Age Verification and what protection we had in play to avoid falling foul of the law and infringement of the new guidelines and regulations currently in force and upcoming.  

I soon realised that there were many age verification systems available on the market and set about researching the pros and cons of around 10 of them. Whilst we do not require licensing by the Gambling Commission, we are fully aware that the current guidelines require us to comply with several bodies including the ICO (Information Commissioners Office), GC (Gambling Commission), ASA (Advertising Standards Authority), The CAP (Committee of Advertising Practice) and RMG (Real Money Gambling, Facebook) permission for Social Media platforms that we operate on.’ 

It was important for David to find an Age Verification product that was secure enough to adhere to these regulatory bodies, but still quick and easy to use for his customers. He immediately began looking for an Age Verification technology that would best suit his business. He was most drawn to OneID® as it aligned to his needs. ‘Having been involved with the same issue around Digital Identity back in the late 80's, I was initially astonished to see that things hadn't changed much with regards to applying an ID check on an individual, except of course, we now have the internet and some electronic genius to help.

I was up all night looking for an Age Verification solution and found OneID®. I read the website in its entirety, and it was clear that this technology has all the hallmarks of a winner, it is going to make a difference. I needed a quick installation so when I got in touch I said: ‘I need this system up and running like yesterday’ and within 2 hours the team at OneID® had the system up and running on my website. I was stunned, as some of the competitors were saying it would take several days to complete an installation.

We've been running the system on the Classic Car Comps website for a while now and it has proved very successful in identifying my customers, who in turn understand the importance of protecting their account(s) with us, and our commitment to keeping them safe from fraud attacks on our website.
